Overview

Tsujiri, nestled within Makati City's Ayala Center at Greenbelt Drive, is a charming ice cream shop that breathes the essence of Kyoto’s renowned matcha culture into every cup and dessert. This place is a haven for matcha enthusiasts and those curious about Japan’s traditional tea experience, offering a distinctive menu that perfectly balances authenticity and innovation.

The highlights at Tsujiri are undeniably their signature matcha creations. The Signature O-Matcha and Matcha Latte present a well-crafted harmony between the robust, slightly bitter green tea flavor and smooth milk, satisfying customers who seek a refined yet comforting drink. For a richer texture, their Tsujiri Milk Ice Blended and Matcha Zensai offer delightful layers of sweetness and a hint of traditional Japanese dessert elements.

Besides drinks, the dessert selection stands out with offerings like the Choco Lava and Matcha Flan, which combine creamy, lightly sweet matcha-infused pudding with tender soft serve and chewy mochi, making it ideal for sharing. The Shiratama Kinako Kuromitsu elegantly introduces classic Japanese rice dumplings with roasted soybean flour and molasses, delivering a unique texture and subtle sweetness.

Customer experiences paint Tsujiri as a relaxed spot for both social gatherings and quiet moments alone. The interiors may lean towards a dim ambiance, creating a cozy yet clean environment that complements the delicate nature of matcha. The staff’s attentiveness appears to fluctuate, but preparation remains efficient, ensuring customers enjoy their orders promptly.

Tsujiri’s menu also surprises with savory options like the Kani Salad Sandwich, providing a crisp contrast to the predominantly sweet offerings. This balance caters well to diverse palates, making the shop suitable for families, friends, and solo visitors who appreciate Japanese flavors beyond desserts and drinks.

The brand’s heritage as a Kyoto-originated establishment significantly enriches the experience. Matcha here is not just a flavor but a cultural journey—demonstrated by product quality and thoughtful presentation. It invites patrons to explore traditional Japanese tea nuances in a modern setting, a rarity in the bustling Makati mall scene.

Whether one is a devoted matcha lover or a casual customer intrigued by gentle green tea notes, Tsujiri offers something worth savoring. The subtlety in their Matcha-Strawberry Roll exemplifies this, appealing even to those less enamored with matcha’s usual earthiness. Combined with eco-conscious initiatives like compostable cups, Tsujiri manages to blend tradition with contemporary sensibility.

For anyone near Greenbelt, Tsujiri promises a refined, culturally rich treat that stays true to the heritage of Japanese matcha. It is a must-visit for those who desire an authentic yet approachable taste of Kyoto’s green tea legacy, all within a welcoming urban oasis.

Okay, let me just tell you that this drink is amazing. Kuro jelly matcha. Who knew I would appreciate matcha this way? For those who love this drink and wants the affordable version, go to Zus and order Iced Zirty Matcha with coffee jelly add on. They both taste exactly the same and for half the price! Whichever is available or closer for you.

Their Matcha Latte had the right balance of milk and matcha, but the ice was a bit over the top. The Matcha Flan was a unique dessert too. I really liked their compostable cups—no ice sweat and easy to drink from. Preparation was fast. However, the staff were busy with their phones when I walked to the counter. Nonetheless, Tsujiri is a good spot to have a matcha treat with friends and family, or to simply spend time with oneself

I visited Tsujiri Greenbelt 5. This cafe originated from Kyoto, Japan, specializing in high-quality matcha drinks and sweets. It's a must-visit for matcha lovers! I ordered the sesame roll cake, shiratama (sweet rice dumplings), and a matcha cappuccino. The sesame roll cake was deliciously nutty and creamy, while the shiratama had a delightful chewy texture. The matcha cappuccino was rich and indulgent—absolutely amazing! At first, I thought Tsujiri was a Chinese brand, but I was surprised to learn it has deep roots in Kyoto's tradition. Experience the charm of matcha for yourself; you won't be disappointed!

My friend recommended this place to me. We ordered the matcha flan, which comes with matcha pudding, soft serve (we selected the twist — a mix of vanilla and matcha), and mochi-like balls. Good for sharing na yun. Everything was well-balanced and not too sweet, just right. For drinks, I ordered their matcha and it was good; my husband got the hojicha, and it tasted good as well. The place is a bit dark inside but clean. For the price and taste, it’s worth it, and we were very satisfied with our orders.

Nov 2025: I am not a fan of matcha but I like their Matcha-Strawberry Roll. The matcha flavor was subtle.

Tsujiri is still the best place to get authentic Matcha desserts in Metro Manila! I haven't gone in a while but they now have Hojicha and a jiggly flan dessert that was really good! The greenbelt branch was very hot though and needs improvement in atmosphere and cooling thanks!

We checked this place out, just curious. We got their iced matcha, and one was way too strong – like a matcha cappuccino, I guess. But that cake roll? Yummy! The strawberry cream wasn't too sweet.
